Survey reveals 70% of event planners lose sleep before an event
A quarter of event planners feel anxious in the run up to an event, with more than 70% losing sleep the night before, according to research by international QHotels group.
QHotels’ survey showed that 18% of event professionals said they feel stressed in the run up to an event, with over a third (36%) claiming they were relieved when an event was over.
Two thirds of event professionals said they were losing up to two hours sleep the night before an event, while one in ten lost over three hours.
As well as this, more than half of respondents (53%) said they never had time to exercise while organising events and admitted to ‘powering through’ events, despite feeling tired or stressed.
The research also showed that 98% of event professionals admit they need time after an event for their body to recover, with almost half (48%) saying it takes at least two days to recuperate.
It showed also that only 8% factor time in for themselves during an event.
The survey, which was issued to agency, in-house and freelance event professionals across the UK, was carried out by QHotels as it shaped its new fitness incentive scheme for event organisers, which allows those who book at QHotels to claim a fee Fitbit.
